PDF is one of the most used electronic document standards due to its compatibility among different OS (Windows, Mac, Linux), to its low weight and high printing quality and that it can't be easily modified, among other advantages. Thus, it would be a good idea to convert your Word files to PDF if they are intended to be distributed through the Internet. This program allows you to do exactly that. You can use it to convert any Word file into PDF in just two easy steps. First, you need to choose the files you want to convert. Then, you only need to push the "Convert" button and that's all. The program has other interesting features, like its batch-processing capabilities. You can add an entire folder full of Word documents, and the program will convert them at once. Also, it is possible to set the program to detect the creation of any new Word document to convert it automatically. It is also possible to choose the output folder and the name of the newly created file.
The program requires the installation of GPL Ghostscript to work properly. This can be an issue since Ghostscript weights nearly 40 Mb.
The trial version of the program shows a "nag screen" at startup. Also, the resulting files will show a watermark indicating that they were converted using the trial version. If you find the program useful and want to use it without this limitation, then you need to purchase a license.
